Environmental Responsibility

Carbon Reduction Policy

Kope-Medics recognises our responsibility to operate sustainably and to reduce our environmental impact across all areas of our business.

Our commitment

Kope-Medics Ltd is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and minimising the environmental impact of our care operations across England. We believe that responsible environmental stewardship is part of our broader duty of care, not only to the individuals we support, but to the communities and environment in which we operate.

As a registered care provider, we understand that the health of our service users is directly linked to the health of the environment. We are therefore committed to taking practical, measurable steps to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and improve our overall environmental performance year on year.

This policy applies to all Kope-Medics staff, contractors, and operations across all our locations in England.

Our key commitments

Energy Efficiency

We are committed to reducing energy consumption across our offices and operations by adopting energy-efficient practices, equipment, and lighting.

Reducing Travel Emissions

We actively encourage our staff to use public transport, cycling, and walking where practical, and we plan care rotas to minimise unnecessary journeys.

Digital-First Operations

We reduce paper use by adopting digital care plans, electronic communications, and cloud-based record-keeping across our operations.

Responsible Procurement

When procuring goods and services, we consider the environmental impact of suppliers and favour those with demonstrable sustainability commitments.

Waste Reduction

We aim to reduce waste across our operations, including clinical waste, through appropriate segregation, recycling, and responsible disposal.

Continuous Improvement

We review our carbon reduction efforts annually and set measurable targets to ensure ongoing improvement in our environmental performance.

Monitoring and review

Our Carbon Reduction Policy is reviewed annually by our senior leadership team. Progress against our targets is tracked and reported internally, and we are committed to increasing transparency in our environmental reporting over time.

All staff members are encouraged to contribute ideas and report environmental concerns to their line manager. We believe that meaningful carbon reduction requires commitment at every level of the organisation.

This policy is reviewed annually or following any significant change in our operations or in relevant legislation.
