Compassionate, specialist care for children and young people with complex or high-dependency needs — built in partnership with families and delivered at home across London.
Children and young people we support
Our children's complex care service supports children and young people from birth to 18 — and in some cases into early adulthood during transition — who have specialist care or clinical needs at home. We support children and young people with:
- Lifelong or progressive neurological conditions
- Acquired conditions following illness, injury, or surgery
- Genetic or chromosomal conditions requiring ongoing clinical support
- Complex learning disabilities and associated care needs
- Conditions affecting physical mobility requiring specialist personal care
- High-dependency paediatric needs including clinical interventions at home
- Mental health conditions requiring structured, specialist support
- Sensory impairments requiring adapted communication and care
Our carers are not generic support workers assigned to children's packages. Every carer working with a child is specifically recruited, trained, and prepared for that child's individual clinical and personal needs before their first visit.

What our children's care service includes
Every package is individually designed around the child's clinical needs, developmental stage, and personal preferences — agreed in full partnership with the family.
Clinical Support
Subject to individual assessment and clinical authorisation
- Tracheostomy management and suctioning

- PEG and NG feeding support

Specialist Personal Care
- Age-appropriate personal care sensitive to the child's dignity and preferences

- Positioning and postural management
Development & Wellbeing
- Sensory and stimulation activities aligned with therapy plans
- Support with play, learning, and meaningful activities
- School escort and support with educational transitions
- Sibling and family involvement during care visits
- Emotional support and relationship-based care
Overnight & Extended Care
- Waking night care for children requiring clinical monitoring overnight
- Sleeping night support for families needing rest
- 24-hour complex care packages
- Transition support into adult care services at age 18

Call us or complete our referral form. We accept direct family enquiries as well as professional referrals. All urgent discharge requests are prioritised.
Clinical triage
A senior clinical team member reviews the information provided and contacts you or the referrer to discuss the child's needs and any immediate priorities.
Paediatric assessment
We carry out a thorough assessment of the child's clinical needs, home environment, equipment, and family preferences — always at a pace that suits the family.
Bespoke care plan and carer preparation
We build a detailed, costed care plan. We then specifically recruit, train, and prepare the care team for that child's individual needs before a single visit takes place.
Care begins and is reviewed
Care starts at an agreed date with introductions made first. We review the package regularly and keep all relevant parties — family, clinical team, and commissioners — fully informed.

Referring a child or young person to Kope Medics
We are a trusted referral partner for professionals across children's health and social care in London. We accept referrals from:
